Generous staff at Chafes Solicitors LLP have handed over a cheque to East Cheshire Hospice following a year’s successful fundraising. The cheque for £1065 was given to Fiona Beasley, Major Relationships Manager for the hospice.

Chafes decided to focus its fundraising activities for the charity following a vote by all staff. As an important part of its corporate social responsibility policy, the firm nominates a charity to support annually, ensuring that a local charity benefits.

Staff raised the money through regular initiatives including monthly dress down days, staff cake bakes and a raffle at the Christmas party.

Fiona Beasley, Major Relationships Manager at East Cheshire Hospice said: “We’re very grateful to Chafes for choosing us as their charity of the year. This money will help us to support local people in the community who suffer from life-limiting illnesses from which there is no cure. It will support families and carers throughout what is often a difficult period.

Julia Hibbert, Marketing Manager for Chafes added: “As a company we feel that it is essential to support local charities. Staff felt very strongly that our local hospice was a very worthy cause for this year’s fundraising and we were very happy to hand the cheque over.”
