The Child Support Agency has recently released the 10 worst excuses used by parents to Case Workers chasing payment.  These include :

1. The Complainant said he was not paying any more child support as he had already bought his child a Pick ‘n Mix that week.

2. Another said he could not pay for his children because he had to take his ostrich to the vet.

3. A footballer earning £4,000 a week said the cost of keeping his Ferrari on the road meant he was not able to pay off his arrears.

4. One man said he was not paying child maintenance as he had already paid for his ex’s breast enhancement of which her boyfriend was now getting the benefit.

5. A man said he could not be the child’s father because the woman who filed the claim was too ugly.

6. A number of Complainants have said that it is against their human rights to have money deducted from their salaries.

7. A man who changed his name by Deed Poll said he was not liable for child support because he was no longer the person named on the child’s Birth Certificate.

8. There are apparently hundreds of Complainants who say that the dog had eaten their wage slips and letters from the Child Support Agency.

9. A father who had undergone a sex change and became a woman argued she should not have to pay because she is not the man who fathered the children.

10.  Another claim was from a man who said he did not officially exist anymore because he was on the Witness Protection Programme.  Sadly for him he was not and he was made to pay.

In many cases the Child Support Agency do not always get it right, but conversely there are many families who rely on the Child Support Agency for child maintenance.  You should seek legal advice if you have any difficulty with the Child Support Agency and you shouldn’t allow any problems to continue as you may suffer financially in the long run.
