CHAFES SOLICITORS RAISE £4,800 FOR LEUKAEMIA RESEARCH
Chafes Press Release PR103 : 19th July 2006
Showing that everyone can put their best foot forward for charity, energetic employees at Chafes solicitors in Stockport have raised £4,800 for Leukaemia Research. Chafes has raised the money, which will help towards the charity’s world-leading research programme, by undertaking fundraising activities including the Greater Manchester 10K run.
12 people from the Market Place-based solicitors practice joined the 36-strong Chafes team to run the 10K course around the City Centre at the end of May.
This year the staff at Chafes chose to run to raise money for Leukaemia Research. One of the solicitors ran the race in memory of a friend who died of the disease aged 25.
Speaking about the final total raised from the run, solicitor Kate Baker whose friend Joanna Leslie lost her battle with Leukaemia in November 2004, said: “We are really pleased that we have managed to top the amount we raised last year for our Chafes nominated charity. The £4,800 will really help towards Leukaemia Research’s work and I am delighted to be able to hand over the money in memory of my friend.”
