CHAFES APPOINTS PARTNER TONY MORRIS TO LEAD BUSINESS SERVICES TEAM

South Manchester-based law firm Chafes Solicitors has welcomed partner Tony Morris as its new head of business services. Tony joins Chafes from the Manchester office of Cobbetts, where he has headed up its commercial team since 2000 as an equity partner in the national firm.
Tony commenced his role at Chafes on 2nd January 2007 and is leading the team of corporate and commercial solicitors in developing the firm’s range of business services. He is based in Stockport but will work with fee earners and clients across each of the firm’s four offices. The business services team will continue to offer commercial clients advice on employment, litigation, property and motor finance and the appointment will enhance the firm’s expertise in commercial and corporate work.
Tony has a wide range of expertise and experience in both corporate and commercial work, acting on behalf of a variety of clients from SME’s and high net worth individuals to large corporates. He has acted as a lead partner for a US Fortune 500 corporation on many acquisitions and disposals in the UK in deals raging from £5m to £50m.
Speaking about his appointment with Chafes, Tony says: “This is a great opportunity for the firm to develop its range of services for the commercial market within the South Manchester area. This is an opportune time for Chafes to build on its existing reputation and maximise the opportunities within the buoyant commercial market in the region.”
