THE ROTARY CLUB LOOKS TO ALDERLEY EDGE
Chafes Press Release PR118 : 2nd March 2007
The membership district for all Rotary Clubs in the area, Rotary International District 1050 is looking to Alderley Edge for local help. The District needs a suitable venue to accommodate its meetings from 1st July ’07 and as the most central location, it is wishing to hold its meetings at a venue in the village.
Rotary International District 1050 has 44 clubs in towns and villages throughout the width and breadth of the area including clubs ranging from the City of Manchester, the Metropolitan Districts of Stockport, Tameside & Trafford and the County Districts of Macclesfield, Congleton, Vale Royal, Crewe & Nantwich, High Peak & Staffordshire Moorlands.
Mike Payne, who becomes District Governor on 1st July 2007, says: “Because Club representatives will be travelling from locations throughout the surrounding areas, holding our meetings at a convenient point is a must. Alderley Edge is the most central location for us and we are keen to identify a venue, as soon as possible, prior to the commencement of the new Rotary year on 1st July.”
200 Rotarians from 44 Clubs will meet four times a year at their quarterly Council Meeting and up to 20 representatives from the various Service Committees will also meet 32 times a year.
Mike continues: “We need to work with the local people to find a suitable venue that can accommodate these meetings and we are very keen to hear from any business, community group or public sector body that may be able to help us.”
Local Rotarian Chris Welton, Senior Partner at local law firm Chafes solicitors adds: “Alderley Edge is a great choice for Rotary International District 1050 to hold its meetings. The village has always been a great business and community hub and I am sure that Alderley Edge will welcome such a world renowned organisation.”
Rotary International is an organisation of business and professional men and women united world-wide, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help to build goodwill and peace in the world.
