SOLICITORS SUPPORT CHARITY WITH FETE
Chafes Press Release PR132 : 31st July 2008
Over £240 was raised for The MS Society at Chafes Solicitors LLP’s ‘Summer Family Day’. The annual event was a summer fete where each of the four offices was responsible for the stalls and games. The stalls included Penny Roll, Coconut Shy, Wheel of Fortune, Splat the Rat and a Tombola, along with slightly less traditional ideas of Guess the Baby photos and a Beat the Stig, which involved remote controlled cars.
All the money raised from the stalls has gone to charity and has brought the total charity fundraising by Chafes, since the beginning of May, to £943.53.
A spokes person from Chafes commented, “We do feel it is important to support charities and recognise the work they do. It is not to get brownie points but it does demonstrate one of our core values and that we are genuinely a caring firm. The chosen charity this year, The MS Society, was picked as one of our own people was diagnosed six years ago and is affected by the condition.”
Other fundraising events undertaken by Chafes have been 10K and 5K charity runs earlier this year, and there are more social event planned for the future. Over £2,000 was raised last year and the aim is to exceed that amount for 2008-2009.
